mystery of love ...serry three

My own view about a suitable partner for a relationship is one who is “beautiful.” This is the kind of person you are extremely attracted to. Beauty is of two aspects one of the inside and of the outside. Beauty of the outside; this means that one is attracted to the whole physical appearance of the spouse/partner. The one of the inside means that similarly the partner is attracted to the behaviors of the partner. What makes men very happy is marrying a very beautiful, caring, loving and respectable wife. Times have changed and today men cherish falling in love with women who are hard working normally referred to as strong women. I personally would not hesitate falling in love with a woman of a higher /better status as compared to mine. However in this, one has to be careful because being better in status might become a source of none submission and disrespect to the husband thereby violating the Biblical provisions. The women on the contrary love men who will make them feel secure, t

In relationships there is a lot of pretence and appreciation, this is what has made them last long. Many of the married people and loved ones have actually come to discover that whatever qualities they desired in a spouse are just a few if not at all he/she is having any. There is no perfect person in life, and we are all disappointing, make mistakes as it is human to do so, it is only and only God who is perfect. You will get attracted to some one at first sight and think this is the perfect choice this time around, will get engaged with him/her while looking out whether he/she possesses the qualities you desire. It will take you some time while still in courtship and later on discover that you are losing interest in this same person you were talking about and introducing to your friends all the time. Note that, this is human and not a sign of having chosen the wrong choice, it happens to even those who have spent decades in marriage. My humble appeal to you is looking for alternative

The Pains of being a Pastor's son

I used to marvel at Pastors and their families a decade ago. I loved the way the children were treated in church, given those very front seats in the houses of the almighty. The juices they kept sipping, and the pride they swallowed especially when their Dad ( the pastor) made reference to one of them) all left me begging down in my heart that one day I should be a pastor's kid too. This seems to be everybody's wish especially for those who at least go to churches that have a pastor. This kept as a prayer request on my heart for long because I only longed for the things that my eyes could see and my hands could touch.  Whatever was behind the scenes, I had no idea. It is now a decade and believe me I managed to steal the match from the devil. I am a pastor's Kid now and I am reaping the fruits of  what I had longed for. However believe me, there are things that  I was not seeing, and trust me, it is not the best story I can tell. In a pastor's home, the only TV to be w

Tricks of winning Ugandans

You might wonder what pulls the crowds when a politician is "making his points". I have had a lot of fun during the on going campaigns and elections in this country. In Mbarara, while at a rally, one politician said,"I will build roads for you, I will plant new forests...." and it all seemed like it was not a joke until he broke my lungs with laughter when he deceptively added "I will build dams for you so that you can fish and make your own power." One of the people in the crowd asked,' "We do not have rivers, how will you build the dams?" The politician answered then answered "Even the rivers...i will provide, just give me your mandate.." The Ugandans clapped and eventually gave him votes. Another scenario, still in western Uganda..some staunch NRM guys convinced people that if they voted for the bus, the bus would be used to ferry the then incumbent candidate in the presidential race, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni away...they did as t

WHY MONOGAMY IS ON THE INCREASE PART ONE

In the case of Hyde v Hyde Lord Penzance remarked in his judgment, noted that…I conceive that marriage as understood in Christendom, may be defined as the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others” This judgment emphasizes the issue of monogamy as the type of marriage recognized under Christianity basing argument on Genesis 2 18-ff when God made a woman for man and both would live together. Christianity as a factor led to rise of monogamy in Uganda. The church missionary society (CMS) that was for protestants and the white fathers which were Catholics emphasized a “holy life” or sacred lives and described some African customs as being evil for example polygamy and advocated for monogamy. In Buganda, a chief of high rank Andrew Kaggwa (now a martyr) was a Munyoro Youth who approaching 30 led an exemplary life. He married one wife irrespective of the property he had; “ to many, this was surprising and to most chiefs annoying…how can a man of rank

THE MYSTERY OF LOVE One of the best poets of love Shakespeare is quoted to have said that “love is to be very strongly attracted to someone in an emotional and sexual way.” Expressions like: I love you. We love each other and we are going to get married are used. Love can also be described as having very much care about someone, especially members of your family or close friends. Expressions like; I love my children. I have known her for some good time and I am dearly in love with her are used. Note that, it is feelings and emotions combined that make up the true meaning of what love is. “Feeling” is some thing you feel physically in your body whereas “Emotion” is the feeling that you experience, for example love. Although feelings are experienced by every normal human being, they must not alone be a compellant for one to fall in love with the isolation of emotions because feelings are seasonal. One day you might feel in love with this person and tomorrow with another. Many relationshi

JESUS THE LIVING HERO

There have been so many definitions of who a hero is and of course I don’t have a problem to any of them. So many people have done great works for people at the expense of their lives. As Uganda, we have many heroes who were remembered last week on 9th June. Heroes have not just pierced our skies but it has been a trend of life. Every one today has a hero they remember for doing something great to their dear lives. In the bible, Moses and Joshua are heroes in their own capacity. I had a different idea when it comes to remembering dead persons as heroes because to me a best hero is a live one. Jesus is my best hero as he is living and I have hope and assurance that eternity is also real. Jesus came for a mission to save mankind from the sin and to fulfill the mission of God of restoring the lost relationship between mankind and God. To have Jesus as a living hero is the best thing for one to be boastful about because there is already assurance that those who believe in Him will have et
